Our Vision
We believe God is stirring in our church a fresh passion to reach beyond our own comfort to all people among whom God places us.
We embrace God's mission to bring the life changing Gospel to unreached people in our neighborhood, and
We sense God convicting us to more intentionally reach out to people who live in our midst in Princeton area as well.
Our Purpose
Our purpose is to love and worship God, live in obedience to His Word and proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. This means we will prayerfully seek to:
- EXALT our Lord through joyful worship and service.
- EQUIP believers through the preaching and teaching of God’s Word, the sacraments and discipleship.
- ENCOURAGE one another through love and good deeds.
- EVANGELIZE to those who need the Savior in our community and the world.
In all these things we humbly acknowledge our total dependence upon Jesus Christ, the living head of the church. We believe that God’s purposes for us will be realized only as we allow His Spirit to direct and empower us.
Aims and Practices
- We believe that the Bible is God’s Word and is the only source and guide for faith, doctrine and life.
- We accept the Lutheran Church’s confession of Faith as being in conformity with God’s Word.
- We believe that a congregation is an assembly of believing Christians where the Word of God is preached in truth and purity and where the sacraments are administered in accordance with the Lord’s Instruction.
- Recognizing the clear distinction made in the scriptures between the children of God and the children of the world, we believe in a personal experience of salvation in Jesus Christ.
- We conduct our services using simple order of worship where the sermon, based on the Word of God, occupies the most prominent place in the service.
- We encourage the use of lay persons (parishioners) in spreading the gospel and furthering the work of the kingdom of God.
- We seek through Sunday School, confirmation instruction, Bible camp, Lutheran Brethren Youth Fellowship, and Lutheran Brethren Youth Ministries to teach our youth to be followers of Jesus Christ.
- We believe in a strong evangelistic emphasis and with other congregations support the mission work in Canada and the United States and Cameroon, Chad, Japan, and Taiwan.
- We are aware of the value of Christian education and with other congregations sponsor Lutheran Brethren Seminary, Lutheran Center for Christian Learning and Hillcrest Lutheran Academy in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
- We are actively interested in giving persons of all ages an opportunity to enter into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
